Cable trays are used in food companies

As a food company, the industry part of the food chain procedure includes the steps of transportation, reception, storage, processing and preservation. The raw materials of the industry mainly come from plants (agriculture) and animals (livestock). The development of the industry has benefited from the progress of food science and technology. The growth of food production has been accompanied by a steady increase in the monitoring and assurance of hygiene and food regulations in countries that try to control and coordinate processes and products.

And in the process of facility construction, cable trays are also needed to protect their facilities.

1. Cleaning and processing areas

The facilities in the processing area must be built in a hygienic way to ensure food safety and eliminate any form of contamination risks. Cleaning and disinfection should also be made easier as they help preserve and maintain the installation. The materials in the cable tray ensure a thoroughly clean installation and the surface is resistant to contact with food and cleaning agents.

2. Extreme temperature zones

Extreme temperature zones are areas with extremely low temperatures, where the ambient temperature can drop below -20oC and stay there for a long time. Extreme low temperature zones include freezers and cold storage rooms. It is important to note that the insulation and other protective features of electrical equipment used in these places must not deteriorate at operating temperatures. The cable tray must be able to withstand the stress caused by exposure to harsh environments. Therefore, when different areas of the internal passage are exposed to extremely varying temperatures, such as in cold storage, the cable tray must be able to withstand the circulation of air from the hottest area of the passage to the coldest area without losing its quality.

3. Underground storage areas

Wet places, such as those where floors, ceilings and walls are or may be saturated with moisture, and where silt or thick water droplets formed due to condensation may appear or be covered with mold for a long time, can enter underground storage facilities.

It is recommended that electrical materials, especially cable management systems, should comply with protection when used for terminals, joints and connections and systems or equipment with a protection level corresponding to vertical falls and water sprays in these locations.

4. Outdoor storage areas

Outdoor storage locations have a high incidence of climatic variables, such as humidity and sunlight, which can cause rapid wear and tear on any placed goods. The use of cable trays in outdoor installations will be defined as low corrosion resistance of level 5, and the galvanized layer is specially designed to withstand severe weather for a long time.

5. Production control area

The production control area is a room adjacent to or different from the factory where all production activities are coordinated. All signals from the machines arrive in this room, where they are processed to create a daily schedule of all production activities in the mobile plant. Cable trays will be used indoors with little exposure to external elements that could shorten the life of the product.

Materials in non-food areas should be made of corrosion-resistant materials or materials treated (coated or painted) to be corrosion-resistant, and these surfaces should also be cleanable. Surface treatment must be done so that product particles do not get stuck in tiny indentations that are difficult to remove. Surfaces must be able to be cleaned and disinfected when necessary. To do this, they must be smooth, continuous or sealed.
